


Cavalry will charge unprotected archers, sweep on end runs, etc. The terrain you're on is what you'll see on the battle map, so if your enemy is uphill with artillery, you're sunk (or vice versa). One thing I really hate: The game springs stuff on you, such as the Pope allowing countries to attack YOU, but you can't retaliate without excommunication Merchants ripping off your Merchants & ganging up on me with 3 countries while hitting me with the Black Plague (My army drove my finances $20k in the red really fast when my "earning" population died off).

Lots to consider, many details, so if you're not into management, kiss it off. They vastly improved over the original game, & not just in better graphics.
